Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne and his entourage are reportedly catching heat with reports claiming they are under fire for assaulting a fan earlier this month.
According to reports, Weezy put out a verbal threat after getting approached by a fan in early May.
For the second time in a month, Lil Wayne and his entourage are under investigation for assault … and once again the alleged victim caught a beatdown for daring to take a photo of Weezy. Alfredo Marino tells TMZ on May 3 he spotted Lil Wayne and his posse skateboarding. Marino says he is a HUGE fan of Wayne’s so he went up to Weezy to ask for a photo — but was shut down. Marino retreated to his car, where he tried sneaking a pic … Marino claims Wayne walked over with his crew and began threatening him, saying, “Don’t you know all it takes is a word and these motherf**kers are going to f**k you up?” (TMZ)
Things got worse as victim Alfredo Marino claims he suffered physical injuries shortly afterward.
Marino claims he was clocked from behind with a skateboard — which knocked him down and left him bleeding from the head. Marino says he suffered a concussion and vertigo. Marino’s lawyer, Craig Chisvin, tells TMZ, “My client will enforce all of his rights under the law and all individuals responsible for this outrageous incident will be blamed for the damages that my client has suffered and continues to suffer.” In April, a photog in Miami filed a police report claiming he was attacked by Lil Wayne’s crew for the same offense. Cops are investigating. Calls to Lil Wayne’s rep were not returned. (TMZ)
Outside of legal matters, Weezy has kept busy by taking care of business with Cash Money Records.
“YMCMB start and stop with Wayne; it ain’t no YMCMB without Wayne,” Birdman said in an interview. Birdman wouldn’t confirm the exact figures in the deal, but he made it clear that when it comes to Wayne, who he considers a son, the sky is the limit. “The type of situation we did never been done in urban music; it’s probably the biggest deal ever in urban music,” he said. “I’m blessed to even do that — whatever my son want, he can get. It’s all his anyway, so it don’t really matter to me.” (MTV)
A few weeks ago, Weezy revealed signing a multi-album deal with Cash Money.
The rapper, who has been signed to Cash Money records since he was 11 years old, has inked a deal with the label to put out another four albums under his Young Money imprint. Wayne made the announcement during an interview with MTV’s Hip Hop POV, while also revealing details about his contract with the label and what fans can expect from his new releases. “Contract-wise, I only get paid for 12 songs. Maybe on a Carter album, you probably only gonna get 12 songs, maybe a bonus 13,” Weezy said. “But on this I Am Not a Human Being thing, I don’t really care … you’re probably gonna get 16 on there.” (The Hollywood Reporter)
